New and improved!
Tomorrow is the last day of Blogmas, guys! I can’t believe we’re at the end already! This month has really flown by–Christmas eve is tomorrow!
In honor of this, I’ve decided to do an updated version of the post that I made last year of the makeup that I’ll be wearing on Christmas eve! Feel free to recreate this look or take inspiration from it!
Okay, so I first begin with my foundation. I’ve been using the Maybelline Dream Fresh BB Cream in the Light / Medium Shade Tint. I put a few dots all around my face and just blend them in using my hands.
Next, I move on to concealer. I use this Maybelline concealer in the shade 15, called Fair Clair. I make an upside down triangle under each eye and then blend that in using either a concealer brush or just my fingers depending on how lazy I’m feeling.
To set my face, I use the bareMinerals original foundation in the shade Medium. I pour some of this into the lid of the pot, grab a fluffy powder brush, swirl it around in the powder–make sure to tap off the excess–and swipe it all around my face.
After this we move onto blush. This has recently become one of my favorite steps in my makeup routine. I was never really a blush person, but once I tried Glossier’s Cloud Paint it was like I became a whole new person–I love it! I take Glossier’s Cloud Paint in the shade Puff and dab a few small dots onto the apples of my cheeks, then tap to blend it across my cheeks.
Now, onto the highlighter. I’ve been loving Glossier’s Haloscope. I take the stick in the color Quartz and draw a sort of ‘V’ shape on both sides of my face from the end of my eyebrow to the middle part of my cheek. Then, I use my ring finger to blur the edges of the highlighter for a smoother finish.
Next, I move onto eyeshadow. I adore the Anastasia Beverly Hills Modern Renaissance palette. I take the shade labelled #1, a stunning rusty-clay colored red shade called Red Ochre, and take some of that onto a blending brush. I then pack this onto my eye from the outer corner to about the middle of my eyelid. Then, I take shade #2–a gorgeous shimmery gold shade called Primavera–and pack that into my eye from the inner corner to the middle of my eyelid to meet the Red Ochre. After blending the two together in the middle, I then do the same thing underneath the eye on the lower lash line with a smudge brush.
Eyelashes! I curl my eyelashes next and then put on two coats of the It Cosmetics Superhero Mascara. This mascara is like magic, you guys. I have never seen my eyelashes look so long and full with any other mascara! My mom was actually the one to suggest this mascara to me and I haven’t looked back since!
Last, but certainly not least (as it is my favorite part of any makeup look), I finish off the look with some lipstick. I am way more of a matte than a glossy girl, so I naturally had to go for a matte shade. And, of course since it’s Christmas, I went with a red lip. I chose to go for MAC’s Matte Lipstick in the color Russian Red. It’s just the perfect blue-toned red that I love.
That’s it! My holiday makeup look for 2017! I hope you all enjoyed and if you’d like–give it a go! Let me know how it goes down in the comments!
